Pool
The main pool is 25 yards in length and has 6 lanes and a diving area. There is also a baby pool
for our little ones.
The pool is open from April through October, 7 days per week. The pool hours vary by season
(see table below for dates & times).

Swim Lessons
American Red Cross "Learn-to-Swim" Lessons now offered at MVP for both
members and the
Swim Team
The "MVP Marlins", our Swim Team, provides excellence, pride, commitment and fun to the
members and their families.
For an additional fee, Moraga Valley Pool (MVP) has a recreational swim team for
children, ages 3 1/2 to 18. Mini Marlins is a special pre-swim team program
consisting of weekday practices for 3 1/2 to 6 years old. The swim team is for
ages up to 18 years old.
The Head Coach is Kevin Lai. Kevin has coached Moraga Valley Pool since 2004.
Kevin is also the coach of the Campolindo Junior Varsity Swim Team as well as
assistant coach with Polar Bear fall swimming. As an age group swimmer for
Orinda Aquatics, Kevin was ranked in the top-ten in the nation in 50 and 100
breaststroke.
Pre-season workouts begin in late April and the season ends in mid-August with
the OMPA meet (all Orinda & Moraga pools). Our team, the Marlins, focuses on learning, fun and
friendly competition. Any swimmer, regardless of ability, is encouraged to participate. There are
swim team social events and spirit activities throughout the season that provide swimmers and
their families an opportunity to meet other pool members and have fun during the summer. We have
an incredible coaching staff made up of 5 core coaches and 14 junior coaches.
