HOW TO Join
MVP has been a vital and enduring part of the community for over 50 years, providing members, families and friends with a safe, family oriented environment for recreation, fun and competition. Today, Moraga Valley Swim & Tennis Club membership consists of 300 families. We are members of the Orinda Moraga Pool Association, the US Aquatics Council and the US Tennis Association.
To learn more about MVP and how to join, please contact our Membership Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
MVP currently has a waiting list of 20 families wanting to join. We encourage families interested in joining MVP to get their name on a waiting list to facilitate the earliest possible opportunity to join. A $50 non-refundable application-processing fee is required to be placed on the waitlist. The $50 is applied to the membership transfer fee when a family joins MVP. The MVP Board of Directors must approve a family joining the waitlist.
You will need to fill out a waitlist membership form that can be downloaded here:
MVP Waiting List Application
Process to Join MVP
Once on the waiting list, an MVP member family may contact you to sell their membership. The seller and buyer negotiate the cost of the membership being transferred. Once an agreement is made, the buyer pays the seller for the membership once the Board of Directors approves the membership transfer. The Membership Director will then notify the buyer and send the Registration and Emergency Contact forms to be filled out. The buyer will complete and send the forms and a $250 transfer fee paid to Moraga Valley Swim & Tennis Club. Upon receiving the forms and transfer fee, the Membership Director will send a letter confirming the membership, a key to access the facilities and a membership certificate.
The new member will also be responsible for paying the annual dues, which are $2150 in 2010.
The Board of Directors highly recommends to members who want to sell their membership to use the waiting list to contact potential buyers, with highest priority given to those who have been on the waiting list the longest period of time. While members are encouraged to use the waiting list to sell their membership, it is their right to sell their membership through other means.
